Ustream Intros Ustream Certified Program, Simplifies Streaming

At the Streaming Media West conference in Los Angeles, streaming specialist Ustream announced the Ustream Certified open API, which lets small and large customers broadcast events without worrying about server configurations or transcoding. NewTek, Teradek, LiveU, ViewCast, Blackmagic, Logitech, and Capella Systems have already signed on as partners, letting their customers easily put video online with Ustream.
By using the Ustream plugin for the TriCaster, NewTek customers gain one-button streaming. LiveU’s LU70 and LU40 bonded cellular broadcasters now interface with Ustream. Teradek Cube and Bond gain Wi-Fi and bonded cellular streaming with the API. Blackmagic H.264 ProRecorder and ATEM Television Studio offer HD streaming on Mac OS X. Logitech Broadcaster gains wireless HD streaming; enterprise encoder ViewCast Niagara is certified to use with Ustream; and Cappella Systems Cambria Live, an enterprise video capture and encoding program, has built-in Ustream integration.
“You don’t have to limit hardware choices in order to simplify streaming setup,” says Ustream senior vice president of marketing David Thompson. “We want to give broadcasters the ability to choose from best-in-class encoding products that fit a variety of production setups.
Most of the Ustream Certified products are available now. People attending the Streaming Media West conference in Los Angeles can get more information about the Certified program at the Ustream booth.
